SSH Telnet
What is SSH? How to handle a server over SSH?
SSH, which is an abbreviation for Secure Shell, is a network protocol used to exchange encoded information between a client and a hosting server, making it impossible for unauthorized parties to intercept any data. Many tech-savvy clients prefer SSH due to the better security level. The connection is established and the commands are sent through a command line. The offered options depend on the type of web hosting service - on a shared server, for example, files can be relocated or deleted, databases could be imported and exported, and archives could be set up or unpacked. On a virtual or a dedicated server, your options are considerably more - the web server and the database server may be started/stopped/rebooted, server-side software may be set up plus much more. These things aren't possible on a shared server, since full root access is required and all the other customers on that server would be affected. While SSH is used largely with UNIX-like OSs, there are SSH clients for other OSs too - Windows, Mac OS, etc.

SSH Telnet in Cloud Web Hosting
When you have a
cloud web hosting account with us and you would like to deal with your content remotely through SSH, you may get SSH access to the account using your Hepsia Control Panel. If your package deal does not come with this feature as standard, you may add it with several clicks through the Upgrades menu. Within the SSH section of the Control Panel, you shall see the host, the port number and the username you should use when you connect to the account. You can also choose what password you would want to use, given that it doesn't need to be the same as the one for your account. We've prepared many Help articles where you can find each of the commands you will be able to use with a shared hosting package, as well as examples of how they're used. Additionally, if SSH access is enabled for your account, you'll be able to establish a Secure FTP (SFTP) connection via a standard client like FileZilla, for example.

SSH Telnet in Semi-dedicated Hosting
SSH access is offered as standard with some of our
semi-dedicated server solutions, while with others you will be able to include it through the hosting Control Panel if required - even just for the current month. In either case, you can activate and de-activate the function with just one mouse click through the SSH section of the CP. In the same spot, you'll see the server name, the port number and the username required to connect to our platform. You will also find a box in which you could input the password that you'd like to use, since it does not need to be the same as the one you use to log into the CP. For better security, you could also change it as frequently as you require. A full list of the commands which can be executed in a semi-dedicated account is available in our Knowledge Base, alongside the syntax and a few instances. An extra feature after SSH access is enabled will be the ability to connect to your hosting space via SFTP using any FTP client which supports this sort of connections.

SSH Telnet in VPS
You'll be able to use SSH to manage your content regardless of which
Linux VPS packages you select when you sign up, because all our plans come with this feature by default. You'll not have to include or allow anything manually - the moment your web server is ready and you receive the Welcome e mail with the login info, you can connect and start working on your websites or any software that you'd like to install and run on the machine. You shall have root-level access to the VPS and since the account will be separated from all of the other accounts inside the physical web server, you shall be able to do anything you would like without any restrictions. You could set up any app that you need and that shall work on a Linux-based hosting server, restart any software server (web, database, game, media, etc.) and manage your files and databases quickly and easily.
